
Apple Corps and EMI announced on Tuesday that the much-postponed sonically upgraded remasters would be released on individual stereo CD's and in two boxed sets — one stereo, the other mono — on Sept. 9, 2009, the same day the Beatles edition of Rock Band, the music video game, is scheduled for release.
“The albums have been remastered by a dedicated team of engineers at EMI's Abbey Road Studios over a four year period utilising state-of-the-art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analog recordings,” Times Online quoted EMI and Apple as saying.
By October 1972, the Beatles’ worldwide sales total stood at 545 million units. It is estimated, to date, The Beatles record sales are over 1 billion units worldwide.
